” You don’t take a photograph, you make it. ” – Ansel Adams
I was born in Cape Town, South Africa to an Irish father and Afrikaans mother. I have travelled extensively across Southern Africa and there are very few places that I have not trod. If there is an old dusty town off the beaten track, hiding secret like gems, I’ve seen it, been through it and most likely stayed a night or three. Travelling along the sandy roads, I feel complete freedom and relish both the journey and the destination. This passion and commitment to nature and travel is something that is reflected in my nature photography.
My photography is inspired by more than just the diverse landscapes and nature of Africa; it is also driven by her people. I love this continent and there are still so many places to explore and capture. I have travelled throughout , Swaziland, Kenya, Tanzania, Botswana, Namibia and Zimbabwe. I am always in pursuit of something different and try to capture a moment and not just a photograph. This journey was inevitable when my love of travel, conservation, Africa and wildlife all combined with my passion for photography.
I have a passion for the plight of our magnificent Cheetah. I have donated many of my works to various Cheetah projects around South Africa. What better way to highlight the threats facing so many wild animals than through my images. A picture paints a thousand words and each one of these can make a difference.
I am truly inspired and feel most at home in the African bush and I will never shake her dust from my soul. My wish is to share this beauty with you. My Fine Art Prints and Canvasses grace the walls of many fine homes around the world and I am always willing to accommodate a clients needs and special requests.
I live in Hermanus,a village in the Overstrand region of the western cape.
